I taught Amanda and Jessica in 1st grade at Calvary and came to know David as a caring and loving father. He was always proud of his girls and even after they graduated he would always tell me about them and bragg about what they were doing in life. He was a good man and a special father to2 precious little girls. I love your family and will be praying for y'all during this time. Dianne Williby Easterlin

I was deeply saddened when I was told of David's passing. Such a kind and loving man. He was so proud of his daughters. He spent many hours sharing stories with me about how he would take them hunting and how he raised them as a single father. When he worked at Calvary, he would always stop and talk to all the babies being strolled in the buggies. He gave names to some such as fish bait to this one little boy. You will be forever in my heart, David....

- Sharon Allerheiligen , Savannah , Ga

Love and prayers to Amanda and family. Your father was such a kind and devoted man and a shining example of what it means to be a father. From the time I was 5 , and even as a grown adult, he still called me “Stinky” whenever he saw me and it always made me laugh. I am truly sad I won’t hear that again. Condolences to the Sumner family. David was an incredible person.
